Welcome to the Music and Planet Project. This project is founded on the premise that the environmental challenges we face as a collective require not just practical policy solutions but also bold and inspiring messages, stories, and art to propel us forward. People need to feel the gravity of the destruction of our planet in order to truly bring about change. Musicians have a unique ability to move people – and that is why they need to be on the front lines of galvanizing action and setting an example of protecting our planet for future generations. Furthermore, the music industry itself has significant environmental impacts that need to be addressed. From the tour buses to the vinyl to the energy it takes to provide streaming services, the music industry leaves its mark on our environment. There are multitude of solutions we can take on to reduce these impacts while also engaging in projects that contribute to healing our world outside the music industry. However, while many musicians may care deeply about the planet, they often lack the financial resources, time, or knowledge to take significant action. The Music and Planet Project brings together musicians, record labels, music venues, and all others involved in the world of music to engage in sustainability projects. It aims to provide the resources and support to bring about a more sustainable music industry and world. Thank you for being here for the journey.
