Gabrielle Ornate has released a spellbinding video for her latest single, an epic eco-anthem titled Haunted Earth. Featuring scenes of Ornate outdoors among varied ecosystems, from beaches to forests to cliff edges, the video adds an entirely new dimension to the song and brings the lyrics to life. Throughout the video, Ornate blends in with the outdoor scenes and seems at one with nature as she makes her way through diverse landscapes. 

At its core, the song is a sort of declaration of the need to restore the planet: “Beginning now, do not hesitate, regenerate our haunted earth.” However, it also calls into question whether we have the ability to do so. “HAUNTED EARTH is a song steeped in a modern-age mythology, questioning whether we’re not long for this world or whether we’re destined to change the course of fate,” writes Ornate. 

In the bridge, the main character of the song resonates with so many of us looking to a potentially bleak future as she asks: “Why evade preservation? Why resign to oblivion? Why concede degradation?” All throughout, Ornate’s calls for ecological and societal preservation are fortified by the intricate and imaginative guitar playing of her partner Orlando, who electrifies the song with his mastery of the frets. The unique sounds created by the pair continue to establish the duo as a musical force to be reckoned with.
